Presentation for last year’s IFLR Americas winners, writing and shortlisting are freely available for Winners 2022 and Shortlist 2022.
Many of the main requirements and guidelines for the awards remain unchanged. All deals must have reached financial close in 2022 to be included in the search. Deals not closed before the end of December 2022 will not be considered.
All transactions must meet cross-border criteria unless otherwise stated. Deals also form the basis of most Team and Company of the Year awards – after all, these awards are about legal innovation in cross-border transactions. By focusing on this innovation, the IFLR Awards strive to recognize work that breaks new legal ground, sets precedents, advances the legal framework for cross-border corporate finance and improves the investment environment.
When researching legal innovation, IFLR will look at new legal structures, deals that address new regulatory frameworks, and first-of-its-kind deals and transactions that adapt existing technology to local markets. IFLR will assess the complexity and complexity of the work and the impact of legal innovation, as well as contextual challenges in implementation, such as political risks. However, the size of the deal, media coverage, commercial success, or speed of the deal is irrelevant.
Finally, we recommend that companies nominate more than three deals in any one Deal of the Year category because it is unlikely that more than three deals will be shortlisted.
Good luck and God bless you!
