Martins aces Formula 2 Abu Dhabi post-season antiretroviral test

The Formula 3 champion smashed a lap of 1m 35.908secs at Yas Marina Circuit during the morning session on Friday, the fastest of all three days of testing.

Driving Virtuosi driver Jack Doohan, who finished sixth in F2 this season, and runner-up Theo Pourchaire.

Day 1

Richard Verschauer topped the opening day of the test, beating the Prima duo of Frederik Veste and Ole Biermann by 1m 36.395s.

Dennis Huger, who moved to defending champion MP Motorsport for the 2023 season, set the benchmark early, leading the morning run with a lap of 1 minute, 36.821 seconds.

Jack Doohan finished the morning session in second place for Virtuosi, while Verschoor finished third for Van Amersfoort Racing.

The first half of the day saw three red flags in the first 90 minutes, with Enzo Fittipaldi (Carlin) and Campos’ Kush Maini making pit stops on track.

Charrose was auditioned by Brad Benavides, then hit the wall and was unable to continue running in that session.

As the temperatures dropped in the afternoon, Verschur took his time, with Huger finishing fourth overall.

Roman Stanek brought out an early red flag in his Trident-running car after coming to a stop on track, while another came to a stop after Hitech F3 graduate Jack Crawford crossed the barriers into turn two.

the second day

Doohan was fastest on the second day of running, with the 2022 sixth-placed finisher clocking 1m35.990 during the morning session to lead the time table.

His best lap was faster than the lap set by Ayumu Iwasa in the final race weekend of the season, 1m36.290s.

Jehan Daruvala finished the day second, testing for MP Motorsport, while Iwasa finished third.

Enzo Fittipaldi set an early benchmark, breaking the 1m36s barrier to lead from fellow Carlin runner Zane Maloney.

Daruvala then went faster, before Doohan set his fastest lap.

The afternoon session focused on the pace of the long run, with Vesti setting the fastest time, 1m36.462s, ahead of Iwasa and Bearman.

The only stop came after contact between Doohan and Maini at Turn 9.

day 3

Martins topped the final day of testing, setting a time of 1 minute, 35.908 seconds during the morning session to lead the timetable over the three days.

The 2022 Formula 3 champion, ART Test, led from Doohan and Pourchaire by less than 0.1 seconds.

The only pit stop in the morning was caused by Bearman, who pushed the barriers at turn 3.

Maini led the afternoon’s running from Rafael Villagomez (VAR) and Trident’s Clement Novalac, with the fastest time on the course of 1 minute, 36.875 seconds.
