Q&A with Planned Parenthood CEO of Tennessee

Six months have passed since the United States Supreme Court struck down the constitutional right to abortion. Planned Parenthood was the nation’s largest provider of abortions and continues to be a lightning rod for conservative lawmakers who’d rather see the healthcare provider shut down permanently.

Planned Parenthood of Tennessee and northern Mississippi CEO Ashley Coffield sat down with The Commercial Appeal to discuss the healthcare provider’s next steps, and what the days look like now in the wake of the decision in Women’s Health’s Dobbs v. Jackson, which turned Roe against Wade.

The Trade Appeal: I wondered if you could tell readers a little bit about where the fight for abortion access goes from here? To that end, is there a strategy central to the work of TAPP (Tennessee Supporters of Planned Parenthood) right now? How would you describe the areas of focus for the next six, twelve, or twenty-four months?
