“I am honored to be selected for the position of Chief of Education and Workforce,” Masullo told Chronicle Friday.
“Education comprises nearly a third of our state budget. I personally believe that education is the key to solving most of society’s problems from poverty to crime. Even physical and mental health can be improved through education.”
“My goals are to continue to empower parents, support educators, develop early learning, and create programs to improve reading and math that have unfortunately declined nationally during the COVID pandemic,” he said.
Masulu also said he will focus on much-needed trades.
He said, “I want us to continue to emphasize skills training in our schools and adult opportunities through state and technical colleges as well as apprenticeships to improve our workforce.” “We currently have a shortage of skilled individuals in all trades. With a ready and competent workforce, we can encourage new industries in our state that will provide permanent, well-paying jobs for our citizens.”
The Commission on Education and Employment looks at matters related to the Florida education system, from early childhood education through post-secondary education, adult education, and job training. In addition, the commission has jurisdiction over policies and programs that provide opportunities for all Floridians to prepare for the workforce, according to Renner’s media release.
“Here in Citrus County, we have been blessed with great leaders on our school board and in the administration of our schools; both public and private. I am grateful for the experience they have shared with me over the years, particularly Thomas Kennedy whose talents and dedication to our students have earned him recognition on an international level. the state”.
