College Roundup Saturday in Maine: Maine Shoots at Niagara

Maine knocked down four fourth-quarter three-pointers on Saturday afternoon to edge Niagara 73-57 in women’s basketball in the consolation game at the St. Mary’s Shakingfeng Classic in Moraga, California.

Sierra Hodgson was 5-for-8 from behind the arc and led Maine (3-3) with 22 points. Olivia Rockwood added 14 points, Carolyn Bornemann added 12 points, Adriana Smith added 11 points, and Paula Gallego added 10.

The Black Bears shot 53 percent from the field, including 44 percent (12-for-27) from 3-point range.

Aliyah Parker scored 24 points in Niagara (1-5).
